Happy Presidents Day everyone! I know I know I didn't post on sunday. But hey I am only one day late as opposed to 3 weeks this time so progress somewhat. This weeks releases were pretty much all across the board a lot of really good music anddddd a lot of of not so good music. We won't talk about the bad though.
Horror - Bartees Strange
This alt/indie rocker I had never heard of until friday. Their music is truly not what i anticipated based off the album name , and cover. Genuinely glad I did not judge this book by its cover because this album was absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend checking out tracks like Too Much and Wants and Needs. You truly can't miss with this.
My Morning Jacket - Album coming in may
My Morning Jacket released two singles ahead of their new album so I cannot give a full review but fans will enjoy listening to Time Wasted.
Plus One - The War and Treaty
I have loved this husband and wife duo for sometime now. Plus one is a perfect album and to release it on Valentine's Day as well just delicious. Michael and Tanya are so talented, they always release such soulful music , and on this album it really shines, from the lyrics, vocals and instrumentation there isn't a thing i would change. I would love to hear them collaborate with Chris Stapleton or Teddy Swims one day , i truly think those voices together could save lives.
Oh! The Ocean- The Wombats
After almost 7 years the Wombats are finally back and they didn't miss a beat at all with this album. It was almost as though they hadn't stepped away at all. Fans of this band patience paid off. I enjoyed all of this album although only a few songs made the playlist i just want it to be known it is a good listen from top to bottom
Short n' Sweet Deluxe - Sabrina Carpenter
I wasn't certain we'd get a deluxe of this album and boy am i glad blonde made it. If you liked espresso or have been a long time Sabrina fan you are sure to love the extra songs and an appearance by Miss Dolly Parton. I enjoy the artist trend of paying homage to those who created the path. I was also certainly glad to see busy woman finally up on spotify. I highly suggest revisiting the Short n' Sweet album giving this deluxe a listen from top to bottom.
